Good to know
- Trazer or levar? Trazer is to bring something here, to where the speaker is; levar is to take it somewhere else. So when you go to a friend's party, you use levar: Vou levar um vinho. (I'll bring a bottle of wine.) The host says: Pode trazer o que você quiser. (You can bring whatever you want.)
- Pronunciation: the x in trouxe sounds like ss: Eu trouxe pão. (I brought bread.)
- One stem, three tenses: the past (trouxe), the past subjunctive (trouxesse) and the future subjunctive (trouxer) all share the stem troux-.
