Good to know
- Sentir falta de and sentir saudade de both mean "to miss" someone or something: Sinto falta de você. (I miss you.) Ela sente saudade da praia. (She misses the beach.) You'll also hear Estou com saudade! (I miss you!)
- Sinto muito means "I'm so sorry", for bad news or when you have to say no: Sinto muito pela sua perda. (I'm so sorry for your loss.) For small mistakes, just say desculpa.
- Sentir or se sentir? Use sentir with a noun (sentir frio, sentir sono, sentir dor) and se sentir with an adjective: Eu me sinto cansado. (I feel tired.)
- Sentir o cheiro means "to smell": Você está sentindo esse cheiro? (Can you smell that?)
