  • Se enganar means to be wrong or make a mistake: Desculpa, eu me enganei. (Sorry, I made a mistake.)
  • Se não me engano is "if I'm not mistaken": Se não me engano, ele mora em Curitiba. (If I'm not mistaken, he lives in Curitiba.)
  • Um engano is a mistake. When you dial a wrong number, you say Desculpa, foi engano. (Sorry, wrong number.)
