  • Brigar com someone, brigar por or por causa de something: Eles brigaram por causa de dinheiro. (They fought over money.)
  • Brigar com also means to tell someone off: Minha mãe brigou comigo. (My mom told me off.)
  • Spelling: the g becomes gu before e to keep the hard sound: eu briguei, não brigue.
  • Uma briga is a fight or an argument. To argue with words only, people also say discutir.
