Good to know
- Malhar is the everyday Brazilian word for working out, usually at the gym (a academia): Vou malhar depois do trabalho. (I'm going to work out after work.)
- A body part can be the object: malhar as pernas (to work your legs), malhar os braços (to work your arms).
- Malhado or malhada describes someone who is fit and toned: Ele está bem malhado. (He's in really good shape.)
- Informally, malhar also means to criticize something harshly: Os críticos malharam o filme. (The critics tore the movie apart.)
