Good to know

  • Encher de: you fill something de something: Ela encheu o copo de suco. (She filled the glass with juice.)
  • Cheio (full) is the adjective that goes with this verb: O copo está cheio. (The glass is full.)
  • Encher o saco is a very common, informal way to say "to annoy": Para de encher o saco! (Stop being annoying!) A softer version is encher a paciência.
  • Encher is also used for tires and balloons: encher o pneu (to pump up the tire).
