Good to know

  • Two meanings: anunciar is "to announce" news and also "to advertise" something for sale: Vou anunciar o carro na internet. (I'm going to advertise the car online.)
  • Um anúncio is an announcement or an ad: Vi um anúncio de emprego. (I saw a job ad.)
  • Watch the stress: the verb form eu anuncio has no accent and is stressed on the i; the noun o anúncio has an accent and is stressed on the ú.
