  • Remover or tirar? Tirar is the everyday word for taking something off or out: Tira os sapatos! (Take off your shoes!) Remover is a little more formal and common in instructions, medicine and technology.
  • Remover de: you remove something de somewhere: Removi o aplicativo do celular. (I removed the app from my phone.)
  • O removedor is a product that removes something: o removedor de esmalte (nail polish remover), o removedor de manchas (stain remover).
