  • Machucar or doer? Machucar is to injure: someone or something does it. Doer is to ache: Eu machuquei a cabeça. (I hurt my head.) Minha cabeça dói. (My head hurts.)
  • Se machucar is to get hurt: Você se machucou? (Did you hurt yourself?)
  • Spelling: the c becomes qu before e: eu machuquei, não se machuque.
  • Um machucado is a cut, scrape or bruise.
