Good to know

  • Spelling change: the g becomes j before o and a to keep the same sound: eu ressurjo, que ele ressurja. It's the same change as in surgir.
  • Re + surgir: surgir means to appear or to come up, and ressurgir is to appear again. The double s keeps the "s" sound between the vowels.
  • Ressurgir das cinzas means to rise from the ashes: O time ressurgiu das cinzas. (The team rose from the ashes.)
  • No command form in real use: things reappear on their own, so you'll mostly meet the third person.
