Good to know
- Levar or trazer? Levar is to take something to another place; trazer is to bring it here, to where the speaker is: Vou levar um vinho para o churrasco. (I'll take a bottle of wine to the barbecue.) / Você pode trazer gelo? (Can you bring some ice?)
- Levar + time: levar is also "to take" when you talk about time: A viagem levou cinco horas. (The trip took five hours.)
- Levar a sério means "to take seriously", and levar um susto means "to get a fright": Que susto eu levei! (What a scare I got!)
