Good to know
- Stressed i becomes ei: eu odeio, ela odeia, que eles odeiem. When the stress falls on the ending, the i stays: nós odiamos, eu odiei. Only a handful of -iar verbs do this.
- Odiar is common for everyday dislikes, not just strong feelings: Odeio segunda-feira! (I hate Mondays!) Detestar is a close synonym: Detesto fila. (I hate waiting in line.)
- Que ódio! is a common way to vent, like "That's so annoying!"
