Good to know

  • Buses and trains: circular is the usual verb for public transport running: O metrô não circula de madrugada. (The subway doesn't run in the early hours.)
  • Drawing a circle: circular also means to circle something on paper: Circule a resposta certa. (Circle the right answer.)
  • Circulo or círculo? Eu circulo (I circulate) is stressed on cu. The noun o círculo (the circle) has an accent and is stressed on the first syllable.
