Good to know
- Saltar or pular? Pular is the everyday word for "to jump". Saltar is more common in sports and set phrases: saltar de paraquedas (to skydive), o salto em altura (the high jump).
- Getting off: saltar do ônibus is common in Rio de Janeiro. In most of Brazil, people say descer: Vou descer no próximo ponto. (I'm getting off at the next stop.)
- O salto is a jump, and also the heel of a shoe: sapato de salto alto (high-heeled shoe).
