  • Spelling: the ç becomes c before e, to keep the same sound: eu cacei, que eu cace, não cace.
  • Looking for something: in everyday speech, caçar also means to look hard for something: Estou caçando as minhas chaves. (I'm hunting for my keys.)
  • Caçar or cassar? They sound the same, but cassar means to revoke (a license, a mandate). Related words: a caça (hunting, game) and o caçador (the hunter).
